Hi Everyone, it is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Fran Laliberte.  Fran passed away at the May Court Hospice on December 28th.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Fran was a retired school teacher who worked at the store and also taught some amazing classes.  When she worked in the store I was always sure that she would treat people with courtesy and respect and she was very knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge. She was one of the most talented people I ever met, and also one of the kindest.  If you had the pleasure of taking one of her classes you know how organized and prepared she was and how she loved to teach.
This past year was difficult for Fran but she handled her last journey with her usual grace.  I have been extremely lucky to have Fran as a friend and learned so many things from her. My life is so much richer for her having been it.
I saw a quote that I can hear her saying...from Dr. Seuss.

"Don't cry because it's over....Smile because it happened."

I'm smiling Fran!

Autumn Glory 2:00-5:00

Join us for this class where we will make three elegant cards that glow with the colours of autumn.  We will use explore non-traditional ways to stamp images as well as create beautiful backgrounds to make our own customized patterned paper.  We'll be working with paints and sprays, so please wear your play-clothes!

Hi Everyone, many thanks to all who participated in Krista's 5 days(and nights) of classes.  They were, as usual very successful and everyone was thrilled with their cards and Multimedia project. Many thanks to Krista who handled the whole 5 days with her usual style and grace!

Hi Everyone, check out these two amazing classes on Saturday October 13th.
Nature Prints 10:00-12:30 pm

Join Karen for this class to try out the Fred B Mullett stamps from nature prints.  The technique we’ll use is inspired by a class taught by Fred Mullett himself.  To make our notecards, we’ll work a little magic with Japanese calligraphy paper, colourful sprays, stencils, Twinkling H20s, and of course, Fred’s stamps from nature prints.  Please note:  we will be flinging paint, spraying ink, and generally making a
lovely mess so please dress accordingly

Watercolour Effects 1:30-4:30
" Join Mary to learn how to make two lovely cards using the
stamps of nature print artist Fred B Mullett.
We will pay homage to Fred and his technique of creating
 gorgeous watercolour effects using rubber stamps in this class .
You will learn how to achieve depth and interest in your work
 as you create your own school of goldfish and a pretty botanical piece.
If you have a stamp positioner and either of the stamps
 we will be using, please bring them with you to class."

Hi Everyone, here are the samples of the full day Copic Workshops Krista is teaching. You can take these workshops on either the 19th or the 21st of October.  You will be making these 7 cards.  I don't have them in the store as yet, Krista just took  pictures and emailed them to me, but I was so excited when I saw them I couldn't wait to put them on my blog.
Will put the other samples up when she emails them to me, and I should have all the samples in the store next week sometime if you want to see them "live".

Join us for this class in which we will create two very different cards using the same stamp. We will be using lovely new Memory Box stamps that really capture the essence of fall. You will learn new techniques to make backgrounds that evoke autumn; one moody and dark, the other bursting with the colours of the season. 
We will be using Dylusions sprays that may end up on clothing, 
so please dress accordingly. I recommend your funkiest tie die t-shirt!   

Then in the afternoon Karen is teaching:
Trendy Trees -- September 29, 2:00 to 5:00

This class uses a great new stamp from Memory Box and its coordinating die.   In our first project, we'll make a fresh and crisp card in beautiful fall colours in a clean and simple layout.  In our second card, we'll glam up these little trees and take them to the next level with Art Glitter and transparency.

Hi Everyone, thanks so much to all who participated in our annual
fund raiser for Victims of Violence, "It Shouldn't Hurt to be a Child"  We raised $2850.00 from the Make and Takes, individual donations and ticket sales for the basket of stamping goodies! Speaking of which...congratulations to Francesca Hernandez on winning the basket this year. Thanks again for your continued support of this worthwhile charity.

We have lots of new products in and more to arrive next week. 
The two pictures on the right are the new Embossabilites from
Spellbinders and their other new products will be in next week.

 Hi Everyone, I took a class with Deanna Pannell, the owner of
Glitter Ritz and used the prototypes of her new dies.  They are absolutely stunning.  Above are some of the samples that I made

Join us for this class and try out a new line of colouring tools that Heather is carrying. Inktense pencils from Derwent are saturated with luscious colour and perfect for colouring your favourite stamped images. In this class we’ll learn about some of the unique properties of these pencils and explore some of their many possibilities. The colour range for Inktense pencils was designed for artists wanting to capture the vibrant colours of nature, from petals to plumage and we will see just how effective these pencils are with our two projects. One card features a dramatic floral image from Heather’s Stamping Haven and the other a gorgeous hummingbird from Designs by Ryn. If you enjoy colouring stamped images, you will want to try these pencils!

Hi Everyone, just thought I would give you a preview of the wonderful
class we have scheduled for next Saturday the 7th of July.  Mary did an amazing job as usual
Flowers and Butterflies  July 7th - 10:00 to 1:00 

Join us for this class where we’ll make two pretty summer cards for any occasion. We will be focusing on some sweet Memory Box stamps (so hard to choose!) and some interesting ways to incorporate them as the main images in these projects.
The first card features a hot trend in the paper craft world: Butterflies! I am sure you have seen stylized and botanical butterflies abounding in rubber this season. These sweet versions from Memory Box are very versatile and are the perfect size for use on cards. We will create this sumptuous, textured card using a mix of traditional methods and interesting new materials, including LaBlanche Specialty Paper and Distress Markers. The second card features a clean design using two lovely Memory Box stamps. A pretty pop of colour is added using a diffused watercolour technique that you can use on many paper craft projects.
